Marie Curie Charity Walk 2009 - Edale

For the second year running, we took part today in a charity walk in the Peak District for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

We did the 10 mile walk for Marie Curie Cancer Care today. I tracked our journey using the Nokia Sports Tracker feature on my phone and uploaded it to the service so you can see exactly where we walked. I've also put the photos into the service and you can see where we took them.

It was a great day, despite the rain for the first couple of hours, as this picture of Dave, Jacky, Bill and Jan shows.

We walked steadily and although we couldn't see much from Mam Tor, we get some unusual sights, like this mist on just one side of the mountain.

We stopped for a bit and had a snack just over half-way round. It was quite windy so we didn't sit still for long

There seemed to be a lot of people walking and when we finished saw this sign saying how much everyone had raised in total:

I collected my certificate and we had a pint in the pub.

I am doing a sponsored walk this coming Sunday, 27 April 2008. It is a 10-mile walk in the beautiful Peak District in the heart of the UK to help raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. We went to seeir Judy Shire last night at Catton Hall as part of Julie's volunteer work for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Had the weather been good, this would have been outside, as it turns out the event was held in the lovely little chapel.
